MIT Schwarzman College of Computing was a significant project completed by Integrated at Work (IAW) in collaboration with Suffolk, the general contractor, and SOM, the architect.

This project incorporated a range of interior architectural products, including demountable walls, pivot doors, auto sliding doors, nonrated door lites, bathroom mirrors, fire frame curtainwall, and much more (see scope below). The project showcased excellent coordination across multiple systems, contributing to the overall success and timely completion of the project.

This project showcases Integrated at Work’s (IAW) expertise in handling complex, large-scale, and innovative designs.  The redevelopment project, part of real estate developer The Davis Companies’ portfolio, features panels with aligned metal strips in the joints, traversing from wall to ceiling to wall.

The design required our team to work with different angles, preparing and fabricating off-shape panels while ensuring that the joints align seamlessly from wall to wall. This intricate work demanded high precision, with a panel alignment tolerance maintained within a tight space. Project completion including 75-109 Smith Place is expected by mid-2024, with the final punch list currently ongoing.

Expert Installation: Our team expertly installed 104 LF of demountable walls, including both single and double-glazed systems from Muraflex Fino, ensuring precision and functionality in every aspect.

WHOOP engaged the AT WORK COLLABORATIVE companies—Integrated at Work, Environments at Work, and People, Places & Spaces—to design an inclusive workspace that reflects WHOOP’s product style and design. Integrated at Work (IAW) delivered demountable walls, glass and glazing, and shower enclosure solutions for this high-profile project.

IAW installed 110 doors and 1039 linear feet of Muraflex MIMO offset partitions. These partitions boasted a sleek black anodized aluminum finish and matching hardware, aligning with WHOOP’s branding. The collaboration with Studios Architecture and Gilbane Building Company spanned eight floors, seamlessly integrating demountable walls and glass features.

Through our collaboration with our AT WORK COLLABORATIVE companies, we streamlined the office renovation, providing both furnishing and architectural solutions, ensuring a cohesive and harmonious space transformation. Additionally, our team enabled WHOOP to achieve its diversity corporate goals. This project showcased our expertise in specialty contracting and reinforced our reputation as a reliable partner.

The demountable wall installation in the 11th Floor Spec Suites at The Hub on Causeway was successful in delineating separate areas within the space, enhancing functionality, and improving its overall aesthetic appeal. The project demonstrated effective collaboration among the general contractor, architect, developer, and Integrated at Work (IAW), resulting in a space that effortlessly meets design expectations.

Solutions/Scope:

  • Installed 515 LF of low-profile glass demountable doors and walls.
  • Installed 4 suites; entire scope completed over 2 weeks.
  • Both regular time (RT) and overtime (OT) hours were utilized strategically to meet the customer’s specific timeline and requirements.
  • IAW’s partner, Johnson & Goglia Contracting, Inc., carried out the installation process with quality and precision.
